Flickbound

Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

Terms of Use

Using the game

Flickbound is provided for your personal, non-commercial entertainment. Please do not redistribute, resell or modify the app, or attempt to extract its content for other purposes.

In-game items

Coins, diamonds, colours and any other in-game items are earned by playing. They exist only inside this app on this device, have no monetary value, and cannot be exchanged for money or transferred to anyone else.

Your progress

Progress is stored on your device only. Deleting the app, resetting your progress, or a problem with your device will lose it permanently, and it cannot be recovered.

No warranty

The game is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. It may contain bugs, and it may be updated or discontinued at any time.

Changes

These terms may be updated in a future version of the app. Continuing to play after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Privacy Policy

The short version

Flickbound shows ads, supplied by Google AdMob. Your game progress stays on this device. There is no account and no sign-in, and we never see your progress or your personal data. Google collects some information in order to choose and measure the ads — what that is, and the choices you have, are set out below.

Who is responsible for your data

Flickbound is published by Aleksa Sever, who can be reached at aleksasever@icloud.com.

For the data described below that Google collects to serve ads, Google acts as an independent controller in its own right. For everything else, the publisher named above is the controller.

What is stored on your device

Your progress — scores, depth reached, coins, diamonds, unlocked colours, achievements, and your sound, music and haptics settings — is saved only on this device, in the app's own private storage.

It is never uploaded, shared, or made visible to anyone else. We cannot see it.

Advertising

The game shows a banner at the bottom of the screen and an occasional full-screen ad between runs. These are served by Google AdMob.

To select, deliver and measure those ads, Google's advertising software may collect and use: your device's advertising identifier, your IP address and an approximate location derived from it, information about your device and its operating system, and how you interact with the ads you are shown.

Google handles that information as an independent data controller, under its own terms. You can read how in Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy and in "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" at policies.google.com/partner-sites.

We do not receive any of that data ourselves. We see only anonymous, aggregated totals in our AdMob account — for example how many ads were shown.

Your choices

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked for your consent before any personalised advertising, using Google's consent form. You can decline. If you do, you still get ads, but non-personalised ones, chosen without using your advertising identifier.

On iOS, the system may separately ask whether the app may track you across other companies' apps and websites. Declining changes nothing about the game and you will still see ads. You can change that answer at any time in iOS Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Tracking.

Why we are allowed to use it

Personalised advertising relies on your consent, which you give or refuse in the consent form, and which you can change at any time. If you refuse, ads are still shown, but chosen without your advertising identifier.

Storing your progress on your device is necessary to provide the game you asked for. Showing ads at all is how the game is paid for, which is our legitimate interest in operating it.

Where your data goes

Google is a global company and processes advertising data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Google states that it uses the safeguards required by EU law for those transfers, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Details are in the Google links above.

Your game progress never leaves your device, so it is never transferred anywhere.

How long it is kept

Your progress stays on your device until you delete the app or use Reset Progress. We keep no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete.

Advertising data is kept by Google for the periods set out in its own privacy policy. We do not control it and cannot delete it for you.

What is not collected

There is no account and no sign-in. The game does not ask for or access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or precise location, and your saved progress is never uploaded.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything it stored on this device. You can also erase your progress at any time from Settings, using Reset Progress — that is immediate and cannot be undone.

Data held by Google in connection with advertising is controlled by Google, not by us. Use the Google links above, and your device's advertising settings, to manage it.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK you have the right to ask for access to your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent at any time.

In practice these rights mostly concern Google, because we hold no personal data about you — your progress never leaves your device and we never see it. Use the Google links above, and your device's advertising settings, to exercise them against Google. If you contact us at the address above we will help where we can, and will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you think your data has been handled improperly, you can complain to a data protection supervisory authority — normally the one for the country you live in. You do not have to contact us first, though we would rather have the chance to put it right.

Children

Flickbound is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, contact us at the address below and we will act on it.

Changes

If a future version changes what is collected, this page, the App Store privacy details and the published policy will all be updated before that version ships.
